Project Management Office: Design, Support, and Implementation

A disciplined Project Management Office (PMO) centralizes an organization’s guiding principles and practices, helping to ensure quantifiable success over the long term. Our PMO experts provide design, support, and implementation services to assist our client in establishing a PMO that will synchronize business practices, minimize repetition of activities, provide an infrastructure that supports organizational change, and reinforce best practices.

 

Design Services - include helping the client understand the role of PMO; assessing the PMO objectives; documenting key assumptions and constraints; and working with the slient to obtain buy-in from the sponsor/senior management on the goals and requirements for the PMO.

 

Support Services - include analyzing current business processes; preparing the Governance Document; developing practices, procedures, and templates for a variety of practice areas including system lifecycle, project management, and configuration and change management; developing training material, user guides, and checklist; and integrating IT tools to support business processes (e.g., enterprise project management solution to monitor work activities, manage resources, track risks, report progress).

 

Implementation Services - include rolling-out practices, procedures, and templates; mentoring PMO staff, project managers, and other stakeholders to reinforce the project management concepts and best practices being integrated into the project; delivering training to facilitate implementation of the Governance Document, as well as the new practices, processes, and procedures; collecting and analyzing project status information; generating and distributing progress reports to progess managers; and developing a dashboard to communicate the health of the projects to senior management and project sponsors.
